Young leaders from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School District have the opportunity to complete their applications for the Outstanding Young Leaders (OYL) Scholarship each fall. Once submissions and judging are concluded, all top 10 nominees will receive an official certificate of achievement with their name on it to keep. The scholarship winner will receive an additional official certificate denoting the amount of their scholarship.
The chapter typically presents one scholarship a year, the number of scholarships and their amount will be dependent upon the success of the project’s fundraising efforts. The Winston-Salem chapter will send the top application to compete for the North Carolina Jaycee’s Outstanding Teenager Award. The rest of the top five winners are also invited to self-apply to compete for the North Carolina Jaycee’s Outstanding Teenager Award. The winners of this award and an additional scholarship are announced in late summer at the Distinguished Service Awards Banquet.
Congratulations to our 2019 Fall Top 10 Outstanding Young Leaders!
