2013 NC Year End Convention (Jan 31 – Feb 2, 2014)
At Year End Convention our chapter was recognized with many awards – some for the 2nd semester and some for the entire year.
Congratulations to everyone and thank you to every single member for huge contributions to our success! Together we’re making a big impact in our community.
Our chapter placed 2nd in Parade of Chapters for 2nd Semester & 1st in Parade of Chapters for Year End. This means we are working hard and succeeding in providing well rounded programming for our chapter! For those who missed the convention, here’s how we did!

State Awards
- 2nd Semester: 2nd place in Parade of Chapters – Winston-Salem Jaycees
- Year End: 1st place in Parade of Chapters – Winston-Salem Jaycees
- 2nd Semester: Top Growth Chapter (+ 19) – Winston-Salem Jaycees
- Libby Wallace Memorial Award (+ 32 overall – highest growth for year) – Winston-Salem Jaycees

HOBY Awards!
In June 2013, we successfully completed our 4th year of HOBY NC West in Winston-Salem. In this 3-Day seminar, 103 Ambassadors from the western part of NC learned about their personal leadership skills, how to lead within a group, and how to lead within their communities.
Each year awards are presented at HOBY Training Institute in Houston, Texas. Awards are given to Leadership Seminar Chairs, Recruitment Directors, and Corporate Board Presidents from all over the country. The following awards were presented:
- SUPERIOR Leadership Seminar Chair: presented to Mitzi McLean
- Recruitment Director Award: presented to Carmen Miller
2013 Local Year End Award Banquet (Feb 23, 2014)
At our Local Year End Awards Banquet we presented our awards received at the NC Year End convention to our membership. We also awarded some local chapter awards. BIG thanks to our 77th North Carolina Jaycees President, Scott Alexander, who attended our banquet to help present the awards!
