Chili Cook-Off for Lake Waccamaw Boys and Girls Home
Mar 9, 2013 @ 11:30 am$8.00 – $10
Do you have an award winning chili recipe? Here’s your chance to prove it! The Winston-Salem Jaycees are holding a chili cook-off competition for a great cause- The Boys and Girl’s Home at Lake Waccamaw. 100% of the proceed will be donated to this State Priority Project.
To battle it out and become the Chili Chef Champion, entries are $10.00 each. The 4 categories will be: Vegetarian, Spicy, Unique and Best Overall! Each culinary competitor will be asked to submit a photo of them cooking for the website and Facebook event pages. You will also be asked to provide a list of ingredients, so that tasters will be aware if there are any allergy concerns. We will award certificates to the 3 categories winners and then the “best overall” chili will be named the Grand Chili Chef Champion! The competition is open to the public. Amateur and Professional Chefs both are encouraged to participate!
If you aren’t a cook, but love chili, we need you to be our judges! Tasters will receive a tasting cup and a spoon for a recommended donation of $8.00. Once you have tasted all of the wonderful creations, you can cast your ballot for your favorite chili. Drinks will be provided and there will also be desserts for sale.
Contact Kathleen Maloney or Sterling Bollinger to sign up to compete and start perfecting those recipes!
