General Membership Meeting
July 24 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
You’re invited to the monthly General Membership Meeting of the Winston-Salem Jaycees. The meeting is an excellent way for members and non-Jaycee guests to network, develop professional skills, learn about service and leadership opportunities, and more.
For our July meeting, our invited speaker is Michael Thomas, director of the nationally recognized Project Re-entry program. Did you know that one of the largest barriers to finding employment is having a criminal record? Project Re-entry helps former offenders before and after their release with counseling, vocational training and other services. By helping people avoid the pitfalls that can lead to recidivism, Project Re-entry reduces criminal justice system costs, improves public safety and – most importantly – gives formerly incarcerated men and women the tools they need to find stable employment and improve their lives.
Michael will tell us how Project Re-entry works in the community with employers, non-profit agencies and educational institutions to successfully re-integrate former offenders into society. The meeting will also include a training activity on team communication; discussion of the direction of future projects (including Sibshops); and upcoming opportunities to get involved in the community.
Don’t forget to bring items for the MudPies School Supply Drive! Click here for a list of needed supplies
Whether you are looking for ways to become more engaged as an active citizen or want to meet and mingle with other local young adults (or both!), we look forward to seeing you there!
Optional Networking at 6:45 p.m.
Get to know your fellow Jaycees, brainstorm ideas for projects, make connections for your business, and more!
All Winston Salem Jaycees General Membership Meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month *
