Gun Safety Class

Some people have never held a gun, or are even afraid of holding a gun. We want to allow those members that might be interested in learning more about guns a chance to do so. Gun safety is always the most important part of handling a gun. This project will safely introduce people how to use a gun, and maybe peak their interest in range shooting. We are not trying to promote gun usage, just a respect and understanding for guns. Some may find that range shooting is a sport of interest for them, and some may realize they prefer to stay away from guns. Education and self awareness of guns and gun safety are the primary goals of this project.

We will be heading to The Sportsman’s Lodge for our experience. It is a 50ft, 8 lane indoor gun range that is designed to shoot anything in a handgun caliber. There is no minimum age to shoot, but you must be able to hold and operate the gun safely.

Range fee – $15 per person

Gun Rental – $10 per person, plus cost of ammunition which begins at $5/box depending on the caliber of the handgun.

For those that want to carpool, we will meet at 2:00pm at Carmine’s Italian Restaurant at New Towne Shopping Center, 420 Jonestown Rd (off Hwy 421), Winston-Salem. (We are planning to eat dinner here afterward.)

Or, you can meet us at the gun range at 2:30pm.

You can bring your own handgun and ammo. We are intending on sharing the cost of rentals/ammo there as well since we will not all be able to shoot at the same time.
