Northwest Piedmont Purple Heart Dinner

We will provide volunteers to help with a committee at the Northwest Piedmont Purple Heart Dinner, a dinner that will honor local recipients and their families of the Purple Heart award. The event will be held on Saturday, 8/8/15 from 4 to 8 at the Richard Childress Racing Campus in Welcome, NC. Volunteers will be needed for the purposes of helping out with service in the dining room such as keeping water/tea filled at the tables and helping bring foods to the participants. Volunteers will need to be there from 3:30PM til 8PM. A meal and other snacks will be provided for volunteers as a thank you!

The Purple Heart decoration goes to those who’ve been wounded or killed while serving with the United States Military. Established by George Washington in 1782 as the Badge of Military Merit, the Purple Heart’s order includes the phrase “Let it be known that he who wears the military order of the Purple Heart has given of his blood in the defense of his homeland and shall forever be revered by his fellow countrymen.”
