Project Book Assembly Training
July 9 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
A “blue book” is the Jaycees’ traditional term for a collection of records related to a project, including the Chairman’s Planning Guide (CPG), receipts, project photos, meeting notes and other documentation. In the not too distant past, the chapter collected these records in physical binders. Nowadays we compile and store them electronically, which allows future project leaders to access them easily. With complete records, a future project leader can plan more accurately without having to reinvent the wheel.
In addition, the North Carolina Jaycees recognize outstanding projects with awards each semester – which may then go on to compete nationally. A state (or national) award for managing a project is a great resume-booster for a young professional as well.
This training will teach the project book basics, and begin (if not complete) book assembly for this year’s projects. Project chairs are encouraged to prepare entries for the NC Jaycees Mid-Year Convention CPG competition. The training is open to anyone who wants to brush up on their project management skills. It will be conducted by Sharon Reiss, a JCI Senator and successful past SPE builder. It will be held in the private room at Twin City Hive Coffee Lounge.
