Sibshops Volunteer Night

Join us at Sibshops!

Sibshops is a special night out for siblings of children with disabilities organized by the Family Support Network. This event allows the Sibs to network with other Sibs and helps provide them with ways to cope with the needs of their special siblings. We will play games with the children, eat dinner with them, and break into small groups for more fun activities!
Volunteers will need to complete a form online for a background check.

Here are the instructions:

•   Website – www.wsfcs.k12.nc.us – On the top border, hover on “Parents/Community” and then select “Volunteers” from the drop-down. – On the left hand side, click on “Online Forms and Documents/Volunteer Coordinator-Faculty Advisor Access”.
•   Click on “Volunteer Services Application Form” (you may have to click on it twice).
•   At this point, your web browser may appear with a message saying “There is a problem with this website’s security certificate”. You still want to proceed and click on “Continue to this website (not recommended).” I have tried it and it is safe.
• When the form comes up, you only want to fill out your information for Level I Volunteer.
• Fill in your driver’s license # (if no driver’s license #, put all zeroes).
• For date trained, put today’s date.
• Answer the last 2 questions, “Have you ever had a prayer for judgement continued, been convicted of, or pled guilty or not contest to a felony or misdemeanor?” and “I certify that all of the information entered above is true and accurate. I will keep all student information confidential”.
• Click “Submit” all the way at the bottom.
